On-site Home Garden Work - $30/hr
My hourly on-site rate is $30/hr whether I’m working on a one-time project or if I’m coming by for regular maintenance (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, once a season). We’ll figure out what makes the most sense for you.
What type of work do you do?
Here’s some common examples of work I may perform, depending on your needs:
Planting, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting problems with perennial, annual, or vegetable gardens
Designing plant combinations by light requirements, water requirements, form and height, texture, color, bloom season, winter interest
Adding curb appeal to walkways and mailboxes — creating colorful container plantings and window boxes
Creating butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens, “secret” gardens, and shade gardens
Weeding & maintaining garden beds
Dividing & pruning plants
Naturally amending soil
Pesticide-free pest control
Starting a compost pile or bin
Putting gardens “to bed” for the winter
Spring garden prep work
Plant identification
What don’t you do?
I’m not a landscaper, nor do I perform any hardscaping. This means I don’t do things like mow lawns, perform tree maintenance, or build things like retaining walls.
How I Work with You
Step One: Free 30-Minute Phone Consultation
Before we begin working together, I like to connect by phone so I can hear about the challenges and goals you have for your dream garden. There’s no pressure to make a commitment. If you decide you’d like to work with me, we’ll plan an on-site consult as a next step.
Step Two: 1 Hour On-Site Consult - $49
The best way for us to get started is with a consult at your home. I’ll assess your gardening area, and we’ll talk in more depth about what you’d like to accomplish. We’ll discuss your vision, budget, and how much you’d like to be involved in the process. Some of my clients are hands-on gardeners who want guidance and coaching along the way. Others want me to do all the work. Either way is fine!
Step Three: Quote Approval
After the on-site consult, I’ll prepare a quote detailing costs for design work, materials (e.g. new plants, soil), and estimated project hours. Once you approve the quote, I’ll get to work!
